According to web metrics company ComScore, YouTube reached record viewership figures in May surpassing its 100 videos per viewer threshold for the first time. The report showed that 14.6 billion videos were viewed by 144.1 million viewers last month, working out at 101.2 videos per viewer.
It went on to say that the number of US internet users watching online video increased from 178 million in April, to 183 million in May, accounting for 84.8 per cent of all US internet users. Almost 34 billion online videos were viewed in May. Google Sites represented 43.1 per cent (14.6 billion videos) of all online videos viewed, with YouTube accounting for the vast majority of those.
