The goal is to get your video found when prospective customers search for your keywords on any of the leading search engines. Uploading your video onto publishing channels such as Youtube & Vimeo can help you maximise your presence on these search engines.
To contextualise your video content, websites such as Youtube enable you to accompany your video content with attributes like: Keywords/ Key Phrases, Title, Description, URL, Author, & Profile.
We suggest that you use contextualise your video content in the following way:
1) Keywords/ Key Phrases or Tags
Google’s keyword tool can be used to research the search traffic for different key phrases. What you’re looking for is not the most popular key phrases, but long tail key phrases instead.
2) Title
Come up with a keyphrase-rich title that is human readable. A simple list of key-phrases and keywords looks like spam, and you won’t get people clicking to watch your videos, so they won’t even enter your sales funnel.
3) Description
Most “Descriptions” give you around 200 characters to play with. Like your title, these should be keyword-rich and human readable.
Your landing page URL should be the first thing in your description. Most of the sites you submit your video to will shorten your description, and you want your URL to be seen.
4) URL
Some websites enable you to associate a URL with your video. You should use your landing page URL.
5) Author
Rather than write your name, or business, you should use your landing page URL again.
6) Profile
Use the same rules above to give prominence to your keyphrases and landing page URL in profile descriptions.
